Best After Care for your Lash Extensions!
You just got your beautiful new set of lash extensions and now you are wondering how to take care of them so they stay looking fresh and last long! Well, here are the DO’s and DON’Ts of lash extension after care…
Do not get your lashes wet for 24 hours
It takes a full 24 hours for the lash glue to fully set. Getting your lashes wet too soon can disrupt the bonding stage and cause your lash extensions to fall out a lot quicker.
Use an Oil free foaming cleanser
Foaming cleansers get right down to the lash line and clean away more dirt and makeup! Oil based products can de-bond the glue and cause your lash extensions to fall out. Don’t use cream based eye products that get are difficult to remove and will get stuck in between your lashes.
Do not use Waterproof make up
Waterproof mascara and eyeliner is very difficult to remove and will prematurely pull out your lash extensions.
Wash and brush your lashes daily
The cleaner your lashes are, the longer they will last! Bacteria can build up and cause irritation to the lash line. Remember to wash and brush them daily to keep them looking straight and fluffy!
Don’t rub or pick your lashes
Your lashes can take some abuse but too much eye rubbing and picking can cause your lashes to shed way sooner than they are meant to. Try not to touch your lashes other than when washing or brushing them.
Schedule your lash fills every 2-3 weeks
Depending on your natural lash cycle, you should be getting your lashes filled every 2-3 weeks to keep your lashes looking full. 40% of your lash extensions should be left for your appointment to be considered a “Fill”, otherwise it is considered a “Full Set”.
